ENJOYMENT WITH SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL COMMITMENT.
The cultivation of raw materials, the choice of our ingredients, the concept behind the packaging and
Labels and the energy production at our company location are based on one idea:
Sustainability. The topic of social commitment is also a top priority at Wajos.
Sustainability is playing an ever-increasing role in all industries, which increasingly contributes to consumers' purchasing decisions - including in the luxury food industry. From the selection of raw materials to production, advertising material and packaging, we also pay attention to sustainable thinking and would like to encourage customers to act sustainably. But there is more. In order to really make a difference, we support the Alliance for Climate-Positive Behavior. Because together we can really achieve something and give sustainability the platform it deserves.
The cultivation of red vineyard peaches on the Moselle is particularly important to us. We are committed to preserving the cultural landscape on the Moselle. In a pilot project supported by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, numerous trees were planted, which counteracted the extensive bush cover in the vineyards and transformed the terraced Moselle into a blooming landscape. With our “Red Vineyard Peach” product range, we have put this sustainability and enjoyment into diverse specialties.
Less packaging, less waste: According to this concept, specialties from large amphoras are filled into glass bottles in the store as desired and can be refilled later. Try our vinegar and oil specialties, liqueurs and spirits as well as whiskey and rum in our stores.
When developing our products, we pay attention to a strict selection of raw materials and packaging materials .
All suppliers are checked with regard to the high quality standards set by Wajos, which are the prerequisite for cooperation. Our goal is to build partnership-based, long-term relationships with our suppliers – both economically and ecologically.
In order to save fossil fuels and reduce CO2 emissions, Wajos GmbH has been gradually expanding a PV system on the company building in Dohr since 2009 for the use of its own electricity and electricity feed-in. In addition, heating is done using renewable raw materials and the hot water is prepared using solar energy.
We always try to reduce packaging and limit the materials to glass and paper. This also applies to our labels.
